The Technology Behind Ultrasonic Body Sculpting

Now you can safely remove fat and tighten skin on your body without the cost, downtime, or pain of surgery! For several years, ultrasound has been safely and effectively utilized in the medical world. For Ultrasonic Body Sculpting, the ultrasound waves have been specifically focused to only target fat cells, or adipocytes, in the subcutaneous layer beneath the skin. ”The pulsed acoustic waves of ultrasonic energy converge in a confined focal volume causing a non- thermal, mechanical destruction of fat cells”. The adipocytes are emulsified by the ultrasound frequencies, leaving everything else in the body, nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues, intact. The destroyed fat cells, which are mostly triglycerides, are dispersed into the fluid between the cells and then moved through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver where they are metabolized and excreted by the body.

The ultrasound is followed by Multipolar Radio Frequency to assist in the metabolism of large fat granules previously ruptured by the first treatment and to tighten the skin where the tat is reduced.

This treatment should be used in conjunction with Laser Lipo for best results. It can also be done in isolation.

What does Ultrasonic actually mean?

Ultrasonic refers to sound frequency. An Ultrasonic Cavitation handpiece will makea sound we cannot hear while it is vibrating. We measure the vibration times per second as sound frequency, and refer to this as Hertz. Humans can hear from 20 hertz to 20,000 hertz. We are unable to hear anything above or below these levels. Therefore soundwaves with frequency above 20,000 hertz we call Ultrasonic. A Megahertz is 1,000,000 hett z; we refer to as MHz. Usually an ultrasonic frequency of 1MHz to 5MHz is used for various medical treatments. It is highly penetrative and directional.

The vibration of ion (positive and negative alternation of sound waves) produ<:es a strong wave of pressure to fat cell membranes. Usually a fat cell membrane cannot withstand this pressure,it will explode into the liquid content. This liquid product leaves the body through the normal channels of the body’s metabolism.

Ultrasonic Cavitation customers have seen results which we believe are due to the quantity of fat cells beingdestroyed and therefore reduced, and the body’s fat cell metabolism is improved. Destroying these fat cells can remove the body’s environment for fat storage.

Cavitation Theory

Ultrasonic cavitation technology enables concentrated sonic energy to be dirt cted only at localized treatment areas, and is thus capable of selectively disrupt ing the subcutaneous fat cells through thousands of microscopic implosions impacting the fat cell membranes. After breakdown of adipose tissue (fat cell membrane), the fat is released into the interstitial fluid between the cells, where they are enzymatically metabolized to glycerol and free fatty acids. Water soluble glycerol travels into the circulatory system used for new energy generation whereas the insoluble free fatty acids enter the liver where they are decomposed like any other simple fatty acid.

Let us be clear this isnot a device that will strip away huge layers of built upfat in a single session, or  allow you to completely forego a healthy eating and exercise regime to see progressive results. Ultrasonic Cavitation treatment isnot targeted for obese or seriously overweight people; it is not practical or economical to use it as such. Our experience with Ultrasonicfat cavitation has shown significant success in dissolving localizedareas of  fat deposits. In no way do we perceive this form of treatment to be the solution to all cases of  excessive WE! i ght,   however with continual and measured use, each of  our recipients have shown immediate and ongoing benefits in the  treated areas.

The overall success of our Ultrasonic Cavitation treatment also depends on the lifestyle and metabolic rate of each patient. When largefat cells are decomposed releasing glycerol and free fatty acids into your interstitial fluid, it is safe to assume that without the body’s consumption of the glycerol and metabolized excretion of the free fatty acids, we believe they may simply re-store themselves as fat cells elsewhere in the bocly. In saying this, with a healthy, balanced eating plan adhered to, and appropriate exercise ensued, our clients have proven the treatment to be highly successful.

Immediate benefits will include reduced girth in treated areas coupled with firmerskin. As stated above, the weight loss from treatment is associated with the patient’s capacity to quickly metabolize the fatty acid and glycerol released from disrupted fat cells. Therefore to expect immediate weight loss from this treatment is unfounded, although it may be experienced on completion of your body’s metabolic process after each treatment whilst adhering to the recommended advice.

The patient benefits are primarily focused around the potential to expel excessive fat deposits in difficult to move areas due to lifestyle restrictions. This ‘spot reduction’ may now be achieved witho ut having to greatly reduce your total body mass in the meantime. Common areas seeing measurable success on both male and females include the abdomen, upper arms, buttocks (inclusive of cellulite), and both inside and outside of the upper leg.

FAQ’s Ultrasonic  Cavitation

What is Ultrasonic Cavitation?

Cavitation is a natural phenomenon based on low frequency ultrasound. The ultrasound field creates bubbles in the liquid that surround the fat cells, which gradually grow, and implode. As the membranes of fat cells do not have the structural capacity to wi.thstand the vibrations, the effect of cavitation easily breaks them, while sparing the vascular, nervous and muscular tissue.

What happens to the released fat?

After disruption and emulsification of the fat cells, liquid which makes up the fat cells, in the form of triglycerides, is released into the interstitial fluid between the cells. This fluid is then metabolized to glycerol and free fatty acids. Water soluble glycerol is absorbed by the circulatory system and used as the energy source, whereas the insoluble free fatty acids are transportedto the liver and processed as fatty acids from food.  ·

The fat is a solid substance, how can it be eliminated through the urine?

Because ultrasonic cavitation causes an emulsification of the fat, releasing the triglyceride fluid which is easy to eliminate through the urine and the lymphatic system.

What is the treatment like?

The cavitation treatment does not require any special pre-treatment. It starts with circumference measurement of the target body area and continues with circular movements of the applicator over the treatment site.

The duration of treatment session normally takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the area and the thickness of the fat layer.

What will  I feel during  the treatment?

Most of the clients consider the treatment quite relaxing and comfortable. There may be, however, a slight discomfort due to the specific noise spreading inside your body, but it poses no harm and disappears a   soon as you are not in contact with the applicator.

Is Ultrasonic Cavitation a safe treatment?

Yes, the therapist will complete a medical questionnaire with you to make sure it is safe for you to undergo this kind of treatment. It is a nonsurgical procedure without anesthesia, it is non-invasive (no cutting, leaves no scars or need post-operative course) and it allows for a full social life both before and after the sessions

Is Ultrasonic Cavitation painful?

No, cavitation is a painless treatment. Mild redness may appear oc…o;asionally but does not cause pain. The heat caused by the equipment is perfectly tolerable.

Which are the areas where treatment is more effective?

All those areas with localized fat: thighs, abdomen and buttocks are the most appropriate but there is no real limitation as to areas of the body although we cannot treat tl1e female breast.

Is it possible to lose weight with Ultrasonic Cavitation?

Ultrasonic cavitation is NOT a method to lose weight but rather to shape the body. The treatment is used to reduce stubborn fatty pockets that just won’t go away with diet and exercise.

How does Lipo Cavitation differ to Non-invasive Laser Lipo typE treatments?

A major difference between Lipo Cavitation and Laser Lipo is that Laser Lipo simply shrinks the fat cell. With the use of Ultrasonic Cavitation we safely shrink and remove the fat cells through the body’s natural metabolic process. Our clients are less likely to put the weight back on as the body has to make a new fat cell to replace the one that was removed.

How many sessions are usually needed?
Between 8 and 12 sessions, however, you will be able to appreciate the results from the third session. Cavitation is a natural phenomenon based on low frequency ultrasound. The ultrasound field creates bubbles in the liquid that surround the fat cells, which gradually grow, and implode. As the membranes of fat cells do not have the structural capacity to withstand the vibrations, the effect of cavitation easily breaks them, while sparing the vascular, nervous and muscular tissue.

Must you follow any guidelines before or after undergoing Ultrasonic Cavitation?

Your trained therapist will recommend a low calorie diet and to drink at least 100oz of water before and after the session. After the session you will be required to do a small amount of cardio (brisk walk/jog) for about half an hour. Your trained BSE therapist will have a specific protocol sheet diet sheet and intake form that we recommend all of our clinics to use to help optimize your results.

We do not recommend treating people with the following conditions:

• Contagious or infectious diseases and skin diseases Liver disease• Kidney disease• Heart problems (including pacemakers) • Pregnancy and/or lactating• Undergone a transplant• Cancer. Ur less in remission for over 6 yrs. • Contagious or infectious diseases or skin dieases • Metal implants or electrical devices eg. metal hip joints. pacemakers, plates, pins. staples. • Metal IUD’s (Intrauterine devices) Unless confirmed to be plastic such as the later models of the Mirena. Your trained BSE therapist can consult with your specific case and the full list of contraindications.

It’s been on Or. OZ, The Doctors and many other TV and Magazines due to it’s non-invasive abilities to reduce inches quickly.

What is the treatment like?

The cavitation treatment does not require any special pre-treatment, but we do highly recommend a pre-screening evaluation. It starts with circumference measurement of the target body area and continues with circular movements of the applicator over the treatment site. The duration of treatment session normally takes around 20 – 40 minutes. depending on the size of the area and the thickness of the fat layer.
